OUR TARTANS
Call of the Wild
Tartans
Kilts have long stood as symbols of heritage and cultural pride, but ours go further—celebrating the beauty of the natural world and the rhythm of the seasons. The Call of the Wild collection, inspired by Summer, Autumn, and Winter in the Highlands, captures each season’s essence in vibrant colours, patterns, and textures that honour the ever-changing landscape.
Every traditional 8-yard kilt is hand-finished in Scotland, crafted from 13oz tartan woven in Keith in the Northeast, ensuring authenticity and lasting quality.
-
The unfurling of the vibrant green silver birch leaf, and all new growth which hails the coming of Spring, has influenced the subtle green tones woven within our tartan. This call is answered by the yellow primroses and purple violets which blanket the rolling hills surrounding us, and is captured by our tartan, serving as a reminder of the beauty of nature.
-
The SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) lands which surround us is one of the last breeding areas of the very rare Northern Blue Damsel fly. We are dedicating our lives to increasing their habitat and safeguarding their future.
Its azure blue body characterises our summer tartan, along with the common blue butterfly which fill the summer sky. Within our tartan you can also find the red squirrel’s dance and the purple heather’s bloom under the warm yellow sun.
-
The earthy tones of our Autumn tartan take its influence from the rustic brown of fading bracken, the dull greens of the lichen and moss which scent the autumn air, accompanied by the hidden yellows of the much-treasured chanterelles
-
The reds and yellows of the burning winter fires, from logs long stored, radiates through our winter weave.
The light from the fire glows over the evergreen hope of Spring, embodied by the Holly, Ivy and Pine needles brought into the safety of home. Whereas, out of reach of warmth, the icy blue Tay stays constant in its carving of the lands, as in our tartans.
