Vintage Sgian Dubh

Sgian dubh displaying a basket weave carved wooden handle with engraved thistle-head-and-scroll mounts to the lower section and pommel. The pommel has an engraved ball surmount. The steel blade has a scalloped back edge and single fuller.

The leather scabbard has shield-shaped mounts with engraved Celtic knotwork and thistles, the upper mount with a vacant cartouche (could be engraved). The reverse is hallmarked ‘RA’, Glasgow, sterling silver, 1954 and stamped ‘SCOTLAND’.
